"Vigilant Guardian" — digital wildfire analysis and monitoring

Orainic Technology, in collaboration with the University of Melbourne and the Victorian Forestry Bureau, is thrilled to announce the success of the "Vigilant Guardian" project — a pioneering digital wildfire analysis and monitoring system that significantly advances our ability to detect and manage wildfires.

The system integrates fifteen different sensors in a multi-mode, multi-dimensional monitoring framework, analysing temperature differentials, intensity, speed and internal air pressure — critical data points that traditional methods fail to capture. Deployed during the devastating November 2022 California fires, it demonstrated unparalleled precision and reliability in the field.

Commissioned by esteemed institutions and supported by seed funding, the project bridges aerodynamics, engineering, electronics, wildfire behaviour and fire dynamics. The data it gathered has been instrumental in advancing fire-behaviour research and management strategy.

As wildfires grow with climate change and urban expansion, Vigilant Guardian paves the way for more effective bushfire management, community safety measures and biodiversity conservation — a beacon of hope in our collective effort to protect communities and natural heritage.
